INITIATED AND NOVICES.
Starting from the bottom, a male human-awakened Catholic citizen of the state can be recruited into the Templar forces only after he undergoes a test. If he succeeds, the local Commander will make him a Novice or an Initiated, depending on the current needs.

Novices and Initiated support the Zealots and Knights in their mission and perform humble tasks inside the cathedrals. In the meantime, Novices are trained in the art of magic, and the Initiated in the art of sword fighting and Chi Casting.

Once they pass the Test Of Faith, a Novice becomes a Zealot, and an Initiated becomes a Knight.

ZEALOTS AND KNIGHTS.

These two groups of Templars cooperate and fight together. They ensure that the streets are safe from any magical threat, by eliminating anyone seen casting magic without permission, and investiging any magical phenomena. They are also tasked to mentor the Initiated and Novices, and since they officially become priests, they also have the right to preach.

Furthermore, Zaelots and Knights are trained by their Commanders to become Commanders themselves.

Only a General can appoint a Zealot or a Knight as a Commander.

COMMANDERS.

Commanders are in charge of a single cathedral, which means they lead all the Templars in a city or town (the number of Templars depends on the size and importance). Their mission isn't just to lead their men into battle, but they are also at the head of all investigations, they have a seat in the Inquisition Tribunal, and they are tasked to train the Knights and Zealots.

Commanders have access to the military academy. Therefore they are trained to become Generals.

Only a Guardian can make a Commander a General.

GENERALS.

Generals lead multiple cathedrals in a region. They are tasked to outline the military discipline and to make strategic plans.

Generals can be appointed as Guardians only if the pope says so.

GUARDIANS.

Guardians are appointed senators and bishops by the pope. They are in charge of a certain amount of Generals, depending on the size and importance of their territory, and they preside as Inquisitors in a court.

Since they are senators, they are part of the legislative power. They define the war strategies and can also become professors in the Templar academies.

When the pope names one of them a Cardinal, a Guardian becomes a Holy Prefect.

HOLY PREFECTS.

Holy Prefects oversee the Guardians in each region. Since the Papal States is divided into 11 regions, there can only be 11 Prefects. They answer to the Ministry of Defence, and aid the minister in executing the pope's commands and laws enrolled by the Senate and then later on enacted by the pope.

The pope can nominate a Holy Prefect as a Judicator East or West.

JUDICATORS EAST AND WEST.

Judicator East leads all the Templar forces in the east, and Judicator West leads all the Templar forces in the West. They work in the Ministry of Defence and are tasked to aid the minister.

THE POPE.

The pope rules the Papal States.
